The Truth Project

My friend Sheri participates in a linky/series called  The Truth Project.  I thought her latest topic was a good one so I'm gonna join in.  I know I'm not following the rules, but you can go to Sheri's post and find all that info if you are interested.

Prompt: Something people think about you, but they are wrong...

I have great difficulty with socialization.  I'm sure most people think I'm a homebody, some may even think I'm not allowed to get out and about.  (lol)  Others may think I'm aloof or even snooty or just downright unfriendly.

Nothing could be further from the truth.   I like to be at home-that's true.  I'm most comfortable at home.  I choose to be at home.  I can come and go (with planning due to my many children).  I really can.  I just usually choose not to.  I find one on one conversations and eye contact difficult. I can do it, but it's much easier for me to write emails and text messages.  (Hmmm....Perhaps this explains all the Autism....)  
I do not like the phone.  I tend to be shy, but can be outgoing around those who know me well. 

So....  most people think I'm isolated and unfriendly, but the truth is I cherish my friendships.  I hope my friends know this.  I may not initiate contact via phone or in person, but I hold my friendships close to my heart and wish I was more comfortable in my own skin, more comfortable with the thought of stepping out of my box and looking people in the eye.
