How About a Word for Wednesday??

I normally participate in Wordless Wednesday every week, linking up to 5 Minutes for Mom, but this week I am cameraless and I can't find anything interesting in my picture folders. Oh, well.


And GOSH. I can't believe I haven't posted not one thing on my blog since LAST Wednesday. Can you say.....slacker? In my defense, I had a writing job last week and I was busy, very busy. That's all finished now and I'm on to other things.


Then, on Friday, a friend of my teenagers was killed in a car accident. That has been traumatic, to say the least. He was buried yesterday afternoon, on a beautiful spring day that should have been celebrated in any other way besides a child's funeral...Rest in peace, JP, and my deepest, most heartfelt condolences to your family. (I blogged about that over at Deep South Moms. I would appreciate it if you made a visit to that great blog. It's a wonderful mix of Southern contributors.)


Today I am digging around in my garden, cleaning the weeds away from my beautiful lily sprouts (SO exciting!) and then.....Housework 101. Think, lots of Soft Scrub and elbow grease. LOVE me some lemon Soft Scrub! And, no, the fine makers of Soft Scrub did NOT pay me to say this!


However, be on the look out for an upcoming post and giveaway from a company that makes "natural home pest control" products. I, for one, can't wait to attack my ant army with their ant killer...


So, I have to get busy! But, I'm leaving you with a word for Wednesday. And the word(s) is/are.....

Well, it looks like I made a new friend during last week's Friday Follow, because I've been tagged in a photo game!



Always good to make new friends, especially when you have things in common... (like a house full of kids...)


Anyway.

My photo makes me a little sad, and honestly, I was tempted to cheat. But then I thought about it. Maybe this is just another way to spread CHD awareness. Here is my photo:

This was taken in January when I visited my Baby Clint and switched his Christmas tree over to some new blue flowers. (His flowers are always blue, and have been since the beginning-1993. Because, blue is the color of baby boys....)

It's been 17 years since he passed away from complications of Congenital Heart Disease and too many mothers are still visiting the gravesites of their children. New gravesites. After all these years...

Catching Up and Finding the New with Another Friday Follow....

I am SO loving this Friday Follow, aren't y'all?? Thanks so much to Lynn, Rita, and Tami for throwing this together. It's ingenious, I'm telling y'all.


I'm sure some people out there think a blog is a blog is a blog, but that is just not true. I am really diggin' finding these new friends! I'm learning so much about everything under the sun~home decor, wood working, cooking, parenting, saving money......you name it!


I confess I have been a little slow to reply and I've struggled to fully participate. *blush* If you're following my blog and I haven't returned the love, PLEASE leave me a comment and let me know.


Today I am checking my last two weeks' Friday Follow comments and making sure I visit y'all along with any new visitors today. In other words....I'm coming! Better late than never, right?

I Think my Complaints have been Heard....

I so wish I had a beautiful photo to share with this post, but the camera is in the car and the car is in Missouri with my husband today. Oh, well. You'll just have to trust me when I say the weather is G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S today!


The sun is shining, a light wind is blowing, and it is, get this.....70 degrees! Ahhh.....SPRING....Is that really you?!??!!?


Less than a week ago, as I was suffering through yet another cold-like viral illness, I was literally begging for sunshine and warm weather. And today.....I have it!


Thank you!!


I want to run outside and roll around in the still-brown grass, but I'll control myself. It's pretty muddy.

I'm Late, I'm Late...For a Very Important Date! My 2nd Friday Follow!

I can't believe it's Friday again already!! This week passed very quickly. So quickly, in fact, that I still have a ton of messages from LAST week's Friday Follow to respond to. (*insert embarrassed blush here.*) I do have a good reason.


This week has gone quickly because our family suffered a loss on Monday. My dad's oldest sister passed away after a short illness. I have deep feelings of sadness and regret because I didn't spend any time with my Aunt Nelle after my dad's death ten years ago. My children didn't get a chance to know this wonderful lady. And that's my fault.


She lives on in my memories, though, and I have been thinking of the good times, and sharing some of my stories. She knew I loved her, that much I know.


Aunt Nelle would spend Friday nights with me when I was young. We would sit up and watch The Midnight Special with Wolfman Jack. (Telling my age, here!) She took me to the circus when I was little and to the new J. B. Hunter store in Memphis when it opened. (She bought me bubbles....)


I spent weeks at her house during summer vacations. She taught me how to do The Camel. (It's a dance.) I never could do it, but she was a master!


So many memories....



So.... To all of you who visited me last week during the Friday Follow... I'm so sorry for the delay. I promise I will come visit and follow back.


You see, I've been distracted by sweet memories....

So...What's the Problem??

Every day I click on my Blogger dashboard and say to myself, "I *really* need to post something today. I need to bring back the Daily Blog Review. I need to respond to all those comments sitting in my inbox. I need to ..................." Then I start reading the latest posts in my Blogger reader and I say to myself, "Great post. I *really* need to comment on these posts."


*SIGH*


And then, I.just.don't.


Why??


I.don't.know!


I really love blogging. I love to write. And I really like recording the small thoughts and details that surround the big events of my life, along with the everyday, ordinary mundane stuff.


So...what's the problem??


I.don't.know.


It just feels like it takes too much effort. I feel tired, and I'm not getting much accomplished.


Is it the Winter Blues? Am I depressed? Am I just....lazy??


Breathe in.


Breathe out.


I still don't know, but I sure hope it changes soon. I'm tired of feeling this way.


And my house is a mess!
