I'm so excited...... First Sign!!
During last week's therapy session, they began working on using two signs, the words, and the modeled behavior. Since last Wednesday, we have been signing "MORE" and "MY TURN" every time we get the opportunity. We've been taking turns with toys and kicking the ball.
Yesterday, Eli started signing "MORE" when we would sign it. A couple of times, he also said, "MO" along with the sign.
This morning, he brought me his empty sippy cup. I asked him if he wanted more (twice). He whined a little bit and then, he did the sign for "MORE"!
It's just so exciting to watch!
Progress will definitely be step by step...

How wonderful! I bet it is so precious to watch him sign!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO great!!! We never did signs (don't ask I have no idea why!) but I vividly remember Gavin's first word! It was "num" and we ran around the table laughing and crying and yelling "Say it again!! Say it again!!" LOL
ReplyDeleteWe always felt like Ethan was his therapist. Every time Ethan would come up with a word Gavin was sure to follow in a week or so with the same word.
Hard headed?!!! LOL I do believe I heard that this week from Mike, my oldest son AND my Mom! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat is so exciting, Lisa! I'm looking forward to reading about his progress every step of the way!
